October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease.

Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women. About 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point.

The good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early. A mammogram – the screening test for breast cancer – can help find breast cancer early when it’s easier to treat.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of detecting breast cancer early. Make a difference! Spread the word about mammograms, and encourage communities, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved.

#TurnItPink is brought to you by The Georgia Institute For Plastic Surgery.
Turn It Pink, Inc. is a local non-profit to raise funds, educate and empower women with the ability to make the best decision for reconstructive surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis.
Since 2014, Turn It Pink, Inc. has hosted several local events encouraging a healthy lifestyle, providing education, and supporting local and national education initiatives along with B.R.A. – Breast Reconstructive Awareness
through The Plastic Surgery Foundation.
Due to the Corona Virus and the possible effects on our breast cancer patients, they have made the decision to only host their annual Pink On The Court tennis event at The Savannah Country Club, on October 29th, 2020.
Please feel free to make donations or purchases from our #TurnItPink website www.turnitpink.org during the month of October.
